Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to 5 Years) [Graduate entry]About the course All candidates will be granted two years' credit in recognition of their existing diploma qualifications. On completion of the course, graduates will acquire an industry recognised qualification in teaching, including leadership and management that will enable them to carry out these roles in prior-to-school early childhood services. Credit for previous study Holders of Diploma of Children’s Services Associate Diploma in Social Science (Child Studies), Diploma in Children’s Services Centre-based Care or equivalent qualification will be granted two years' credit (eight sessions part-time) towards completion of this course. Literacy requirements To be successful at studies within this course, students must be highly competent in spoken and written English literacy.All students who do not have this level of competence in spoken and written English literacy will be required to independently organise some form of coaching in English literacy, such as a short TAFE course or other form of tuition to improve their skills. Students will be advised of their options by the Head of School from the campus where they are enrolled. If, after an agreed period of study in English literacy a student’s English literacy standard has not improved, the appropriate Head of School will provide further advice with regard to alternative career options. Graduation requirements To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 credit points. All students receive block credit of 128 points based on prior qualifications, and must then complete 8 subjects.
